Chicago is known for having a great philanthropy heart, many associations have been created in order to help research and many events to raise funds are held in the city. Chicago has been helpful in multiple causes, from education to human services, arts, and health. Yosef Meystel has a great article about facts you didn’t know about philanthropy in Chicago if you want to know more and how to get involved.

The year is ending, and if you haven’t gotten involved in causes that interest you, here is a great list of events to come during October. In this article, we have searched for all of those events that raise money and also move you, literally move you, since they are all walks and marathons. There are events for all kinds of movements, from defending animals, diabetes, to make a wish come true for a child,  to the breast cancer battle.

Year by year United States becomes more active in this kind of events, people feel it’s a way of giving hope and support to others who have faced challenging moments. People see this as a way of raising awareness for causes that affect our country.  Chicagoans are known for helping out not just in awareness but when actual tragedies have affected communities, they are very engaged in helping and in identifying with the victims. Everyone is invited if you are visiting schedule for one of these walks and exercises for a cause!
